Hanging Summer Work in display cases....

So I found out the afternoon should be pretty open.  So you can come in to set up your displays between 1pm-4pm tomorrow, Thursday.  You can find me in A128 to get your artwork, pushpins, etc.  

Please remember to bring:
-something to use as a backdrop (fabric, wrapping paper, etc.)
-your name (LARGE so everyone walking by can see it)
-small tags for each piece that state the media used and size of each piece
-anything else extra you want to add to the display to make it fun, unique, and your own!!

Summer Art Work DUE TOMORROW!

This is the final reminder that all your summer art work is due tomorrow, Monday, August 12th.  Please drop off matted pieces (or framed) to me in A128 between 10-11am unless you have previously scheduled another drop off time with me prior to this.

Failure to turn in all completed summer art work will result in being dropped from the class!  But I know all of you have been working hard all summer so that won't be the case!!  I hope to see everyone's beautiful, smiling faces tomorrow!!!

Cultural Reference

So I decided to go with motorcycle gangs/life as my culture.  I purposefully have the rider dressed all in black/ grey to try and accent the toughness associated with their gangs.  I also tried to leave my brush stroke more painterly and loose (which is really hard for me because I always try and be more realistic) to make it look more sloppy and care free.  Any suggestions? And sorry the photo is such bad quality.. 

Last day to window mat art!

A bit of a change due to a last minute appointment.  I will be at York, in A128 from 8:30-10:30am this Friday, 8/9/13.  If you wanted to use our mat cutter and/or paper for matting please be at York between that time.8/1

Reminder that your sketchbooks and all summer projects are due the following Monday, 8/12/13 between 10am-11am.  Failure to turn in completed projects/sketchbook will result in being dropped from the class so please be sure to manage your time wisely!

So I am planning on printing all my photos at sams club which print nice and pretty cheap but I have one photo that needs to be printed as a square (8x8, 9x9, etc.) they don't offer that size so I am wondering if anyone knows anywhere else that does? Elmhurst camera does customs but are pretty expensive so I am looking to see if there is anywhere else before I go there. thanks!

This is my still life so far, I just started so I still have shadows and everything to add, and I couldn't figure out how to flip it....

Still Life Project

Hey guys,

So I held off doing the still life for awhile because I was struggling with a way to make the project creative and innovative and not just a few objects lined up in a photo. I ended up taking a picture of my objects through an old picture frame and then tried to give it a vintage feel.

The picture below is what the photo looked like before I added any texture to it.

Please give any suggestions if something needs to be improved!
