culture revised
so i posted this picture earlier but just thought it was missing something so i added some color and pattern to each square... too much? which is better/what would you add or take away?
Personally, I like the first one better. The second one is a little busy and the bottom three squares sort of blend together since they're all similar in color. I do like how you colored in the handle part on the stereos in the second one though. Maybe take the original but color in all of the stereos? Once you figure out the right balance between the original image and new one I think this will be a really strong piece.
thanks parker! I am thinking of doing the first one but keeping the color that i added in the second one on top of the stereo and the little bit in her hair...seems like a good balance?
The second one is too busy/confusing. The different patterns are competing w/ each other. Research more into Pop Art...what was specific about that style? From what I know it's much more simplistic. So if you wanted to add a pattern, I like the one in the top left (squares). What if you did that in each one? What if you chose just some squares to add that and leave others blank?
Did you play around instead with adding color to the figures as Warhol has done?
