So my original plan for my concentration was to do a series of portraits centered around the theme of birds. I wanted to use feathers and play around with textures and such in a way that isn't extremely literal. I still plan to do so however I'm currently trying to tweak that idea and finish up with planning it. In the meantime I ended up using the bird theme for my self portrait though a little different from what I have imagine for my possible concentration. I don't know if I integrated the bird into the shot well enough so if more shading and tweaking is needed, please let me know.

Self Portrait Project
Hey guys,
So my original plan for my concentration was to do a series of portraits centered around the theme of birds.

I think the bird needs a bit more tweaking...by his beak especially is where I feel the bird doesn't feel as connected...
ReplyDeleteAlso, is there any way to lighten up your back eye? It's so dark compared to the front eye that maybe a little lightening up (keep it darker, but adding a slight highlight to bring out a bit of the eye) will help us see you a bit more. Otherwise it just fades out really quickly and then you have all that negative space to the right...I think if the back eye was a little lighter it could help balance out you and the negative space more.
