Okay so I'm working on my still life pencil drawing and this is what I've done so far. I like working with details and reflections so that's why I added the three glasses in. I wasn't sure if I liked the set up - is there too much going on or do you think it works? -Let me know!
I feel like if you added a drape or something in the background and on the table it would have a better flow...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think having the background be one color with shadows thrown across and different levels would look better.
ReplyDeleteWhat do all the objects represent? Besides picking things for their reflective quality, it looks like some things have more meaning behind it? The #17? The text?
ReplyDeleteDid you take any more pics of this scene from different angles? I wonder if a lower vantage point (almost looking in towards the bottom glass that is laying on the table) would look cool? Not sure though...
I tried taking different angles but I wasn't getting enough contrast. Should I start over with a new set up or just go with this one?

ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteThat's up to you. If you want to reshoot a new still life you might find you get one you like better. I don't think it hurts to try to reshoot. Since the sun came out what if you set some stuff up by a window to get some natural light?
Or if you wanted to try glass again. Here are some tips for photographing glass:

The key is back lighting the set up. So see if that helps or not.
Okay, thank you!
