This is what i have of my figurative drawing so far, i'm using black charcoal and erasing for the highlights. I am currently finishing the leg and am moving onto the arm and shape/angle of the head. Ignore the random white outlines but let me know if you have any suggestions?

  1. I can't tell from the picture but maybe add more details to the black shirt, or if you dont like that idea maybe add a little something to the background to make that more detailed...

  3. The legs look really good - the shadows are smooth and overall they are well-developed. Even though the leotard is black, it still has shadows to it! I can see that light it hitting her from the top, so tried lightening the charcoal there. Also, it would help if you shaded in curved strokes. This will help add volume to the form so it won't look as flat. Try following the contour of the curves.
