Hey guys,
So I was working on the figurative project and had a simple shadowed picture of my back and then decided to build around it and somehow my art history (I chose surrealism) project formed itself! I tried to capture the weight of the world on "Mother Nature's" shoulders so to speak and this is what came out of it. I don't know if some people might find the photo to be too busy so I just wanted to know what you guys thought about it.
I think this looks really good, it has a lot of detail but it's not overpowering.
ReplyDeleteI love how everything slowly transforms into another nature aspect. The transitions are great! I don't think you have too much going on but the pure white birds are a little distracting..
ReplyDeleteCaitlin,
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would suggest doing is to help the viewers eye go throughout the piece. So have something for us to follow from one thing to the next. For example, maybe you add a feather to draw us back towards the figure on the left side (towards the figure's bottom). Her had feels a bit flat to me so I might play w/ some shadows/highlights to help it pop more and then create a path/line for our eyes to follow from the figure to the birds coming out of her hand.
Finally-your little drawing figure guys on the right...what is their purpose/how do they relate to Mother Nature? Are they needed? Should you put something else in their place? I just got thrown off by them because I don't really understand their connection to Mother Nature at this point.
