I think you could really develope some good shading in the eye. Maybe because you're "seeing" the sun your eye might have a reddish color to it. Or maybe your pupil is really small if you even plan to put a pupil in. I think it will give it more of a realistic feel.
It might be cool if you painted the sclera (the white of the eye) to look like stars in space, so it's like the girl has part of the universe in her eye. I would also make the eyelashes thicker on the outside edge of the eye on the upper lid and add more shadows to the tearduct. I really like the concept and the creases of skin beneath the eye.
I really like the composition of this and the skin around the eye looks perfect. I agree that it would look good to put a pupil in. Maybe you can blend it to look like part of the sun. I think that some more detail on the sun would help make it clear that it's not just someone with a glowing orange eye. Great job!
this looks good, i think you should really develop the sun more because it is hard to tell and we talked about it and about how you should add solar flares and a hint of the pupil and put more shading into the skin with highlights and all. but otherwise looks good!
I agree with what other people have said about adding details to the sun so it looks less like just an orange eye, and I also suggest maybe making the eyelashes more of a dark brown than black? I might be wrong but unless your model is wearing mascara or has black hair, and it doesn't look like either, then I think the eyelashes wouldn't be purely black. The concept of the piece is really cool though and the detail in the skin around the eye is great!
I think you should emphasize the eyelashes and make them really bold and stand out also shading and texture will add a lot if strength to the piece. Also a reflection of the sun in the white of the eye would add more realism and make the eye feel more round
All great ideas above. But I definitely feel like the piece feels flat, so you should push some highlights/shadows to get the round feeling of an eyeball. Try to get the glassy feel with how wet the eye is by adding those small shadows/highlights around the eye. Also look for color reflecting off the white of the eye too as you are adding those fine details.
The concept is really cool. I think the eye and the sun need some more shading to give definition, and you will be good to go! -Erin

ReplyDeleteI love this concept. Maybe add more shading to the edges of the sun but otherwise it's great!
