Claire! I like how this is coming along! The white text within the black of the shoes looks a lot more obvious in this picture (I don't know if you changed something or if it was just how the picture was taken, but I can tell it's a collage more easily from far away)
I like how you fought the gravity of the dripping paint -- it really pulls your eyes upward. And I think the red streams in the middle create a good focal point. I know you want to do something more with the background, but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas to help you :/ You might consider putting in more details into the shoe laces. They just feel too flat and bleh to me.
If you would consider further layering your piece, it might look cool to go out and buy grommets (those metal circles you loop shoelaces through) and glue them to your piece :)
I really like the blue and red you chose for the background, they contrast well with the black & white shoes. Also it's cool you used the black with the writing on it as the material, not just a plain black (i think it's magazine paper right?). Anyway great job, it looks really good.
i think this looks awesome! you showed it to me before without the white text on the shoes and they just looked like photos but now you can tell it is a collage which is good. what the shoes are sitting on you may want to make it more opaque because you can still see the background through it. otherwise great job! it looks great.
I agree that the text looks great on the shoes, and for the laces, maybe using real shoelaces would be cool? Although Cam's idea about the grommets was good too. I think that the little bit of the background you can see through the grey surface looks like a reflection and makes it more realistic/interesting. I also really like how this piece is pretty simple but still detailed and interesting!
From Adi: for the Converse, i like the zoomed in photo because u really get to see the small details in the piece and the depth is really good as well, but i cant help feel that something is missing

This is very nicely done. The shoes pop from the page. I highly approve of this piece.

ReplyDeleteI love this I think the shoes look so realistic.you did such an amazing job. The shadows give the shoes a 3D look to them! Wonderful job!
